Hosted by HKBU, with the Prince of Songkla University as the co-host, this year’s virtual event gathers together inspiring thought leaders and world-renowned experts to examine “Future Rebalance: Emerging trends and workforce in the Asia Pacific”.
It’s an exciting time for higher education in the region, as the pandemic has clearly demonstrated the importance of transdisciplinary collaboration to addressing many of the world’s grand challenges, connecting both science and non-science disciplines together to solving real-world problems. HKBU is proud to host the QS APPLE 2021 conference as the theme and topics resonate strongly with our focus on the importance of cultivating transdisciplinary education and research to meet the needs of tomorrow.
Asian universities continue to make strides in the global league tables, and is home to some of world’s most prestigious institutions today. The pace of change in Asian universities is rapid, bringing sweeping transformations to industries, and communities around the world, presenting both challenges and opportunities. Amidst the rapid pace lies a constant, that universities as innovation powerhouses continue to serve as an important conduit to disseminate ideas and knowledge to create impact.
The QS APPLE 2021 conference is an ideal platform to facilitate such sharing, and there is much we can learn from one another, as there are many commonalities across our work and institutions in the region. The tracks of the QS-APPLE provide a diverse range of pertinent subjects and themes for leaders and higher education professionals alike. I encourage you to engage extensively with one another, network and participate in an inspiring exchange.
