Prof John Spinks
Senior Advisor to the Vice-Chancellor

Prof. John A. Spinks is currently Senior Advisor to the Vice-Chancellor at The University of Hong Kong, with responsibilities for student admission to HKU, local and international student recruitment, and international student exchanges, amongst others, having earlier been Pro-Vice-Chancellor responsible for teaching and learning. He has sat on boards or councils of several tertiary institutions in different parts of the world, and of quality assurance bodies in Hong Kong.
He works frequently in many Asian countries, helping to set up collaborative arrangements, including those relating to student recruitment, which this year totaled over 45,000 for undergraduate studies at HKU. Professor Spinks has been involved in the both the Universitas21 network, as well as the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, having worked earlier as Executive Director in U21Global.
He has run workshops and seminars and given keynote speeches on quality assurance as well as strategic marketing in several Asian countries.
