The Asia Pacific Forum on Government Initiatives in Higher Education

The Asia Pacific Forum on Government Initiatives in Higher Education

Higher Education in the Asia-Pacific region has always been closely aligned with national development, and this continues to be true in the twenty-first century. National academic competition is heating up across the region, with countries from Indonesia to Russia and Japan to Singapore having launched policies to ensure that a good number of their universities are recognized as world leading institutions. Central to these efforts is an increased push towards internationalization and research collaboration.

This Forum will provide an overview of national strategies and explores their collective impact on the Asia Pacific region and the global higher education landscape. Panellists include university presidents and institutional experts from the region, providing an unprecedented breadth of front-line knowledge about these government initiatives and their impact on universities.
